Oppo Vooc Flash Charger & Vooc USB Cable
There is a spread of fast charging systems available for smartphones and usually, each manufacturer has its own favorite system. One company that takes fast charging seriously is OPPO and instead of using an off-the-shelf fast-charging system, the corporate has designed and developed its own, referred to as Oppo Vooc Flash Charger.
Smartphone batteries are charged in two stages. The first stage is often performed with a high amount of power and takes the battery up to around 80%. Then the second stage kicks in where the power is reduced as the battery are topped up to full. This is why you regularly hear OEMs talking about how quickly one device or another is often charged to 80%, or that just a half-hour of charge will boost the battery life by another 8 hours, etc. This is because they’re talking about charging up to 80%, the charging in stage 1. The flip-side of the fast stage 1 charging is that stage 2 is regarded. Sometimes the last 20% are often the maximum amount as 50% of the entire charging time!
As you can see from the graph above, the Oppo Vooc Flash Charger is quite fast. The OPPO F1 Plus, which has a 2850mAh battery, charges from 0 to 75% in just 35 minutes, which is impressive. From 0 to 90% takes 45 minutes, but to travel from empty to 100% takes 1 hour and 9 minutes. Here we see the differences between stage 1 and stage 2. It takes 45 minutes to go from 0 to 90%, but another 24 minutes to add that last 10%. If it had been possible (which it isn’t, yet) to take care of the initial charging rate from 0 right up to 100% then the battery would charge in 50 minutes, rather than 69 minutes.
